QinetiQ- Farnborough UK

QinetiQ is recognised globally as one of the largest defence technology contractors, offering world-class scientific and technological expertise, advanced research capabilities, and access to purpose-built facilities.

Faced with the need to significantly enhance lighting across its expansive Farnborough headquarters, QinetiQ sought a solution that would avoid the disruption associated with trenching for mains-powered cabling to replace failed circuits. The new system also needed to deliver reliable, year-round illumination, be easy to install, and cost-effective to operate.

After careful evaluation, SBL solar lights were selected as the optimal solution, meeting all performance, and deployment requirements.

Agaete – Las Palmas Spain

Agaete, located in Las Palmas within the stunning Canary Islands off Spain’s western coast, is a popular destination for tourists seeking natural beauty and cultural charm.

The hillside walkway to El Turman with no mains power available, the SBL2 Series solar bollard lights were the ideal solution being standalone, solar-powered, and easy to install.

Reliability was key for ensuring safety along the pathway. The SBL2 series is the only solar bollard light with a 10-year warranty and IK10 vandal resistance, offering unmatched durability for public use.

Rijeka – Croatia

Rijeka a port city located in southern Croatia on Kvarner Bay in the northern Adriatic Sea, recently undertook a solar lighting project tailored to meet specific local requirements. Fifty-eight solar lights needed to be capable of recharging efficiently even in heavily shaded areas.

The SBL2 Series was selected for its versatility, able to operate effectively in diverse conditions ranging from full sun to deep shade, 100% powered by renewable energy and installed without disturbing trees or vegetation.

Durability was a key consideration, to ensure resistance to vandalism, the SBL2 Series solar light with its IK10 rating was the preferred choice.

Waterlooville – UK

A new safe route to school footpath provides access to a newly built school, significantly improving connectivity and safety for pupils,parents, and the wider community.

The path runs through established woodland so care and precision was required to protect the natural habitat.

Madate was for a stand-alone and proven solar lighting product that would enhance safety and liveability at night.

The SBL2 Series solar bollard light enhanced safety and accessibility, whilst creating a well-lit and clearly marked pathway.

Residential Village – UK

A village parish council required lighting for residents but due to the distance within the complex cabling for mains power was not cost effective so a solar lighting option was chosen.

Mandate was for a stand-alone solar powered light capable of operating effectively through all seasons to enhance safety and liveability at night.

The IK10 and IP68 SBL2 Series solar light has the advantage of working in various locations without any requirements for cabling or trenching to connect to mains power, so no ongoing power costs and easy installation.

Isle of Skye – Scotland

Located on the rugged west coast of the Isle of Skye at the foot of the iconic Cuillin mountains and Loch Brittle beach, Glenbrittle Campsite is the perfect antidote to the pressures of modern life.

A dark volcanic sandy beach situated at the head of Loch Brittle and at the base of the famous Cuillin mountains. The Cuillin which is a triple SSI area of outstanding natural beauty.

With no mains power available at the installation locations, made the SBL solar bollard lights the ideal choice powered by 100% renewable energy with easy installation, no trenching, and disruption to the Eco habitat.

Bournemouth UK

Bournemouth is a coastal resort town in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) unitary authority area, in the ceremonial county of Dorset, on the south coast of England.

The SBL solar bollard lights were chosen to illuminate the access ways from the town down to the seven glorious miles of idyllic coastline.

The lights had to be vandal-resistant, so the preferred choice was the SBL solar bollard lights, that have an IK10 impact and vandal–resistant rating.
