Maintenance Instructions

This maintenance plan has been developed with the intent to ensure optimum illumination and *increase the operational life cycle of your lighting asset to exceed the warranted period when completed annually or 6 monthly for harsh environments.

*Solar powered product power setting must be correctly selected for location and shading dynamics.

ANNUAL MAINTENANCE

6 MONTHLY RECOMMENDED FOR HARSH ENVIRONMENTS

  1. Use plenty of clean water to wash/rinse off any dust, grit and contaminants from light and pole/stem.
  2. Add a tiny amount of soft-soap or even dishwasher liquid but limit it to a couple of drops in a full bucket of clean water.
  3. Using a soft very wet non-textured cloth clean the light, with a side-to-side or up-and-down motion, then clean the pole/stem.
  4. Rinse down with clean water and wipe dry with a soft non-textured cloth lightly.
  5. Allow the polycarbonate surface to dry before polishing.
  6. Apply a small amount of Meguiar’s PLASTX or similar high quality polycarbonate polish to the dome top.
  7. Polish with a very soft non-textured clean cloth (or powered orbital polisher/buff with soft material or foam pad) the top dome surface only, and the rest of the polycarbonate by hand.
  8. Again, use side-to-side or up-and-down motions. Try to do the same direction every polish.
  9. Wipe the polycarbonate clean with a soft non-textured cloth after polishing.
  10. Tension all the security bolts to ensure they are firm and tight, as constant wind vibration can loosen bolts over time.
  11. Spray with VuPlex or Plexus (if available) a light mist covering all polycarbonate surfaces to create an anti-static non-stick finish and protective layer.
  12. Polish dry with a soft non-textured cloth.
Advanced Cleaning Process

ADVANCED CLEANING

Cleaning Spray Paint, Marker Pen and Contaminants.

  1. Use plenty of clean water to wash/rinse off any dust, grit and contaminants from light and pole/stem
  2. Apply Ethanol (Industrial Pure Alcohol) onto fine-textured soft fabric cloth and scrub off stains with pressure.
  3. “DO NOT” use a circular motion – only side-to-side or up-and-down motions until all acidic or adhesive contaminants are removed
  4. Then complete the ANNUAL MAINTENANCE PLAN steps 1-12 “preferably” using a powered orbital polisher or buff with soft material or foam pad to get a cleaner and clearer finish

Please Note:

  • Spray paint and other acidic liquids will slowly oxidise and weaken PC surfaces.
  • The advanced cleaning process must be done immediately when this occurrence has been discovered.
  • The advanced cleaning process may not restore 100% due to the PC surface having already been damaged by acidic materials.
