Warranty Terms & Conditions
Subject to the following paragraphs, unless otherwise agreed between the parties in writing, “Goods” manufactured by Key Wholesalers Pty Ltd t/a Solar Bollard Lighting® (herein “SBL”) (ABN 37 106 776 130) (we, us, or our) under any of its Brand Names,
Solar Bollard Lighting® (Australia) will warrant our product under normal use and service:
SBL Solar Series: (IP66)
- 5-year limited warranty will be free from physical defects in material and workmanship during the warranty period
- 5-year limited warranty on Battery.
- 10-year limited warranty on genuine SBL Pole/Stem/Post/Mounting Bracket.
SBL2 Solar Series: (IP68)
- 10-year limited warranty will be free from physical defects in material and workmanship during the warranty period
- 10-year limited warranty on Batteries and genuine SBL Pole/Stem/Post/Mounting Bracket.
SBL2 DC Series: (IP65)
- 5-year limited warranty will be free from physical defects in material and workmanship during the warranty period
- 10-year limited warranty on genuine SBL Pole/Stem/Post/Mounting Bracket.
SBLV2 Solar Series: (IP68)
- 10-year limited warranty will be free from physical defects in material and workmanship during the warranty period
- 10-year limited warranty on Batteries and genuine SBL Pole/Stem/Post/Mounting Bracket.
SBLV2 DC Series: (IP65)
- 10-year limited warranty will be free from physical defects in material and workmanship during the warranty period.
- 10-year limited warranty on genuine SBL Pole/Stem/Post/Mounting Bracket.
SBL3 Series: (IP68) Coming 2026
- 10-year limited warranty will be free from physical defects in material and workmanship during the warranty period.
- 10-year limited warranty on genuine SBL Pole/Stem/Post/Mounting Bracket.
Important for warranty activation:
- Goods “must be installed” within 6 months of being received.
- Online Warranty Submission form submitted to “SBL”
“SBL” provides instructions, specifications and resources that outline the proper care, maintenance, normal use and service of its Goods.
Warranty Claim
The above warranties are provided on a ‘back to base’ basis. This means that you are responsible for returning the relevant Goods to us and collecting the repaired or replacement Goods from us, at a location(s) specified by us, at your own expense.
When a warranty claim is being made:
- An online Return Authorisation Form (RA Form) must be completed and sent to us prior to removing the Goods from the mounting fixture. “SBL” in most incidences or at “SBL” discretion, its authorized distributor, importer, sales agent, wholesaler, reseller or retailer
who has supplied the Goods will contact you to discuss all possible external factors that may cause the product to fail firstly. - You must allow “SBL” or its representative at “SBL” discretion access to place/location where Goods in question are installed for purpose of examining the product and installation location.
- Answer any and all questions in specific detail, regarding the Goods actual installation location including a detailed shading condition report which will be required to be checked at 9am, 12pm and 3pm and supply photographs of the installation site exactly as requested.
- If all external factors have been eliminated as the issue, you must then remove the light head section only and pack the Goods safely and securely to ensure no further damage in transit can occur and return the Goods at your cost to Solar Bollard Lighting (if in Australia) or the authorized distributor, importer, sales agent who has supplied the Goods if outside of Australia for inspection.
Please Note:
- Minimal condensation if it occurs is not warrantable as this will dry out in most cases and will not affect the operation of the Goods.
- Non-genuine SBL Pole/Stem/Post/Mounting Brackets are not warranted by SBL, any claims must be presented to the supplier of the Goods
- SBL DC products, if an issue/failure/fault arises from/due to any external power supply not supplied directly by SBL, any claims must be presented to the supplier of those Goods/Items/Components
When a warranty claim is accepted by “SBL”
- At “SBL” discretion, the Goods will be either repaired, replaced with a similar unit or spare parts provided to contractors.
- “SBL” provides a limited warranty for its products only to the person or entity that originally purchased the Goods from “SBL” or its authorized distributor, importer, sales agent, wholesaler, reseller or retailer.
Warranty excludes damage due to the following:
- Failure to observe any of “SBL” instructions regarding shipping, storage, handling, assembly, installation, geographical location and shade assessment and/or maintenance schedule.
- Exposure to chemical fumes, acid rain, or other corrosive conditions.
- Scratching, abrading, misuse, abuse, notched impact, impact by mechanical apparatus, natural disasters, explosions, fire, traffic accidents, or any other cause beyond “SBL” control including Act of God and Force Majeure.
- Tampering, or attempted repair of Goods by non-authorised person/s not employed or directed to so by “SBL”.
Limitation of Liability
“SBL” is not responsible for or bound by:
- Incidental or consequential damages.
- Damage occurring in shipping (claims must be presented to carrier).
- Costs incurred in the process of removing, installing or repairing Goods onsite, including cost of Hire Equipment, Labour, Transportation.
- Condition or functionality of any Goods that has been modified, altered.
- Goods not installed within 6 months of being received.
- Components or parts not supplied by “SBL” to make a complete solar light, which must then be presented to the supplying party for warranty and not by “SBL”.
- Goods installed in a location not suitable for the operating parameters of the specific model/power level/system design ordered for the geographical location.
- Future shading of Goods direct/indirect has occurred such as, but not limited to,
- future buildings being erected
- new landscaping occurring after the date of installation within the location proximity
- shrubs, bushes and trees currently within the installation location proximity continued growth over time and/or not being density or height maintained.
- Verbal, implied, or inferred warranties unless agreed to in writing by “SBL” and not in place of such rights you may have by law.
